7.0 RS, I97, Delta 19cm
Hi All,
Long time since I have posted... long time since I have sailed!! Went up to Budgeqoi today as I was anticipating a parking/jet ski nightmare at Kyeemah. Not sure what it ended up like. Drive up the coast was about 15 minutes longer with the holiday traffic.
Did about 60kms. GPS died so missed some. Wind was pretty good. Never fully powered up on a bear off. It is a weird feeling on the weed beds. You don't feel you are going that quick, and you always want more wind in the gusts. I don't really like the feel of my board with a Delta fin just cruising around and on the bear offs it does not lift on the fin and feels like a bulldozer pushing the water out of the way. I like lift. Did my best to tune it to feel OK. I am sure there were some going much quicker than me, as I just don't know how to dial the Delta setup in.
I had some great gybes today, but seems I missed the Alpha criteria!! :-(
Hope everyone got a great sail in today!
Cheers,
Adrian

Nice sial with most of the gang.
Wind got angry, with some vicious gusts. Managed to do some runs along the runway before it got out of control.

Manta 98, OD 6.2, BP RS 34
Well, that was an interesting day. LOTS of water traffic combined with big, confused chop made for challanging conditions. All the regulars out having a go.
First ride on the Manta and I instantly fell in love. Fantastic acceleration and great top speed (for me) in those conditions. My PB on the runway is 33, so I was very impressed to get 32.8 in very trying conditions today on a board I still need to figure out. It was also great to jibe in the chop, except I need some added grip around the mast where my foot would keep slipping every time I sail-flipped. Other than that I would rate this board pretty damn highly. Stoked and can't wait to see what it can do with some tuning and better conditions.
Bring on tomorrow and Wednesday. Yeehaaaa...!!

Very choppy and gusty, struggled to keep the small board down in the gusts, it was all about learning, I never use this board in the chop with a straight fin.

2887 days ago 1 categories Kyeemagh was well and truly bumpy today, with a very Northerly N/Ester blowing and more than one jetski adding to the chop.
Great fun, and surprised to get a 34 top speed... and 22 alpha! Weeeeeeeee.
iSonic 90L, Select VMAX 31cm, TRX 6.3 which was simultaneously too big and too small.
Great to see so many sailors out today!
