Snuck in a quick session after lunch, just an hour or so. Wind was filling in nicely as I packed down, was 20 knots or so. I tried out a 34 falcon today with the 7.5 and it was very nice off the wind.
Looks like a fantastic day on the water generally and a sweet sign off to a very fun year of sailing. HNY all

An enjoyable afternoon in the Land of Green Smoothness. Met Anita and Jake. Jake told me about the bull sharks so, conincidentally, I didn't miss any gybes. HRH Fangman took time out from his civic responsibilities to chat with the northern invader. I just wish there was a drink station on the outer bank, maybe time to get a Camelback.

Cruisy sail for the end of the year, did try for the hour had to hop off to clear weed a couple of times but all good. Was intending to sail at Fangy Land but someone must have forgotten to pay the water bill so Liptons was the place for the end of year sail. Jake was smashing it out there with Stroppo, Sammy, Tomski, Jonski and Decrepit. What a nice way to finish of the year.

2592 days ago Liptons with Boz and a bunch of the Coastals and MM. What a great way to finish the year off! Hour was the mission, but copped a weed-catapult in the last 5 mins, so had to dig deep and drive a hard downwind leg into Claudsville to recover the lost 20 seconds and 0.3 of a knot. Going to feel that whiplash tomorrow I think. Looong slog back from the other side to get back! Really nice to be back on my original Sonic 85. Works great with the Tribal WS 29. Glad I stayed out as Boz put in some epic mileage today! Nice one!
Another great summer sess
P.S. Rob, saw 2 bull sharks near dark over on the other side at Pt Grey. They looked hungry

2592 days ago Coodanup, WA, AU M91, FF24, 5.4K then Manta 54, kestral 18 and 5.4Koncept 16 - 18 knots with Rob and Andrew and a rather small bunch of Mobbers (most of whom left early - they must have had New Year's parties to go to)
My aim today was to improve my nm for the year so Fangy's seemed the best place. Rob, Andrew and Jake accompanied me, but Jake didn't like the low water and headed to less green pastures. I headed out on the Mistral 91 with 24 fangy fin but the tide was very low and there was a lot of weed drag on the fin, so I came in to change down to the Manta and 18 cm Kestral. Interestingly both board/fin combos got similar speeds, but the Manta felt a lot faster. After a couple of runs that felt fast I thought I would call it a day, but when I checked the GPS to compare speeds with the guys, I noticed I was just short of a PB distance for the year. I knew a little more distance would improve my ranking for the year, so Andrew offered to keep me company and we headed out again. By then the tide was higher and the weed drag was a lot less. The last nm felt even faster than the others (and it was) but not by much. I felt I could have kept going but the sun was going down so we called it a day. We ate Cheezels and drank Lemon Lime and bitters as we watched the last sunset of the year and then headed home. Thanks Andrew for company and the LLB.
My best nm and distance of the year. I left it all a bit late this year - had to wait for some public holidays to have time to get down to Mandurah.
Last sunset of the year over Fangy's.
