Pointman (25563km): Awsome sesh on the race foil. Race foil + 8.6M2 + FTY foil board. It picked up to around 18-20K and I was lit on the 8.6, but I was having too much fun to come in and change down. Lovely long runs the length of the river, from Melville to the Old Brewery. Foil PBs in most categories today, bar the alpha and distance. Really enjoyed that sesh, so nice to be consistently powered up for a change .
Boz (43084km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU Quite a few out enoying the westerlie at Glory Hole, Bit of stop and start for most of us apart from Flex who was a machine today, great effor by Flex hatsoff man of the day. Manta 88 KAR 6.3
Antman (24002km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU First time sail at Glory Holes and can see the potential on this great stretch of water. Was mostly underdone untill a good 20 min squall came through to power up the 7.0NX on the 99Falcon.20dws...Plenty of company out there and good catching up with Boz,Pete and Mike, only saw Jim fly by be on the water, think he might still be out there ;O absoulute machine jim...sorry i could not back you on the NM Boz, next time
Flex (17968km): Glory Holes. Got an early start, arrived to 10knots, rigged the 7.8 and as soon as rigged wind went to 14knots so headed out. Immediately dropped back and chugged around for a bit then steadily wind improved..was never great but managed to stay planning majority of the time but was a lot of work getting to 100km...then a nice squall came through and had to detune the sail to stay alive but was all too short. Really nice flat bits to be found, especially in the Nporthern section. Wind then became pretty average again. At around 140km, the GW60 died, the camelbak ran dry, then the apple watch gave up. At least I still had 4 of the DIY GPS units still with plenty of juice (approved for GPSTC last week) so kept going...was a bit touch and go for a bit and most sailors left then wind picked up nicely again. Got to 150km so decided to go for PB. Got to PB and stopped to check on Boz distance..if he was approaching 100 would keep going to 180 to get team distance. He was a ways off and there was a lull so called it. Note, this is manual entry as KA72 not accepting Jan's DIY GPS new header file which gives a unique device ID to the file. GPSSpeedreader can read the files fine and all 4 units match (with the exception of the 3D printed unit which lost a few km possibly due to water entry). Have emailed all files to Decrepit and Sailquik for validation...at least of distance. 120 Tabou Rocket, 7.8 Severne Overdrive M2, FF22 (Screenshot of GPSSpeedreader below..haven't worked out map yet)
