Coodanup, WA, AU. That was brutal.  Another dawn patrol with Slowboat, Boz, Stretch, Woody, Antman and Flatchat.   Got some runs in but most of the time the wind was outside my paygrade so just filmed the others doing their stuff.  Basically I just sailed the lulls and sat out the brutal squalls of which there were many.  Slowly got colder and colder due to not moving enough so abandonded Antman who was still hard at it when I drove off.  Sorry Antman to not back you up on distance.  Was certainly a day to remember.  Got home to find a large tree fallen over my driveway which should keep me busy the rest of the afternoon. 5.7 RRD Move, 104 RRD freeride/wave, 33TWS

Epic conditions in the pond with some consistently big squalls. Couldn't take advantage of what was on offer but at least everyone else didLaughing. It was awesome seeing Woody and Ant achieving they potential with some spectacular PBs. Not a day for the faint hearted.

Fully stoked to finally brake into the 40s club :)) Rocked up just after first light to find the boyz rigged and ready to roll and with Boz already sailing upto the zone. Rigged the 5.4NX on the 53 Patrick,25 ws..The runs along and off the weed bank were the best i have seen. There were some huge squalls coming through that were way to much for my frame but the ones i could hang onto were pure bliss :) Respect to Woody,Jim Boz,Tim,Chris and Stretch for braving the front of the year and more. Woody, fantastic PBs you was fully sending it and looked good :)

What an epic day. Great direction and a few 40+squals. Awsome to see Ant, Slowy, Stretch, Flatchat, Flex, Boz all out and Jonski as I came in. Conditions were to be taken advantage of and was happy to see what would be 4 pbs today. Stoked to see a 44.43peak and 43.06 2sec. Looking foward to seeing Ants post later who just kept going and going. JP50 Neilpryde Evo12 5.8 clwp23.

Top effort guys (all you lot). That was pretty wild out there today when the wind booted. Mark- I've been watching your committment at this game for a while and hats off to you. In the biggest squalls he was giving it a solid crack while we were all waiting for it to drop a bit. Top effort. More knots will come and thats what it takes to push to the next level. Ant you looked really comfy today. Stoked you got sold PBs but the better news is theres heaps more to come in some better conditions. And we will get them! The angle was a bit too square so the only way to go fast was waiting for a bullet and chasing it out into the chop, or hanging on to the last bit of the curve and hoping the wind would fill in there (for a very short run). With a bit more west in the wind it would certainly have been faster for everyone since we could have maxed it out behind the straight part of the bar. So top effort in what were far from ideal conditions (but windy). Pretty sure though it was flatter than Melville ever gets :)

All six Pinnaroos deserve bravery medals for just being out there at the Pond in those nasty, yet crucial conditions for what you like doing.  I watched the Laser sailing on Ch7 and everyone was cheering at the 6 knot winning average today.  I might suggest Ch7 attends at Woody and Ants (and Slowboats) next gale force sessions.  Really staggering speeds at a spot which on it's day will deliver more as Chris has described.  Ants Alpha deserves special mention....how do you do that when it's that windy?  Poor wifey was quite sick today so no attendance from me but her malaise probably saved my life.

The editting was as brutal as the conditions yesterday but here is video of yesterdays session in the pond.   Appologies to Jonski and Scud for not making it onto the video as I left as you arrived.   I almost got Stretch's crash on video...can just see the splash on edge of screen (it was with my old gopro which I took as backup so the quality isn't the same as rest of video).   There is an annoying piece of yellow string in the 360 footage which is the end of the knot of the camera leash in the FOV which I failed to cut off.  My new  3D printed anti tilt mount worked a treat as got no camera movement during whole session (keeping the pole invisible).      I had Jan Heynen's DIY GPS mounted on back of helmet which you can view my realtime speed on in the 360 footage, and my best stats when I'm not moving (not that my speed is very impressive compared to the others).   Congrats again to Antman and Woody for some epic PB's.

Thanks for the video Flex!

I love the bit about Ant going on about something... and OF COURSE WE WANT TO SEE WOODY'S FULL RUN!

Lovely edit, you made it look very inviting and exciting. Looks like you had a lot more sun down there that we had up here, and it looks so flat in the lee of those banks!

and if you were doing 32 without bearing away you could have done 36 if you did... assuming you could hold it together of course...

thanks Anita and all, if it wasn't clear in the video for Woody's PB run, there's a link at the top of screen at the time stamp I mention it that will take you to Woody's video of his run.  Link to his video is also in his original post above.   I couldn't fit his run in my video..I had nearly 3hrs of footage so there is tons of good stuff that didn't make the cut.  Here's a snap shot of a jewel moment.   (Antman is the sailor in distance)
