Flex (17936km): Melville Beach, WA, AU. Wasn't Albany but was pretty damm good. Not a single sole on the river, or any car in the car park, tide perfect, water flat and nicely powered. Kinda weird on a public holiday in heatwave in middle of a city with all the shops shut. A couple of Kayakers made the mistake of joining me, struggling in the wind but was fun terrorizing them doing U turns around them. Kicking myself for not going out earlier. Gave up when did one lap of chugging. 120 Tabou Rocket, 8.6 Severne Turbo M4, FF24

Woody-Mark (15232km): Albany, WA, AU A 5.30am start with Boz in 25-30kts. Rigged the 5.8 which was nice for the conditions. Quite NE and then it dropped for a while. Ant, Waricle, Stretch, 2 Shanes, Cliff, Pointman, Hardie, Ronny, Evets, Elmo, Lachy and others came to an E at 25-30kts at times. Perfect except for the naughty run. Tried plenty of alphas and was happpy to see 10 over 27 with a couple of 28s. Falcon 56 Evo 5.8 wp 16. Great day top company as always.
Pointman (25522km): Fun fang around at Lilacs. Gladiator 90 + rebooted 6.6 TR7 + 20 tribal delta. Still finding my way around, so no big numbers, but nice to be powered up in the flats.
Boz (42999km): Albany Great day with the boyz sailing a piece of heaven, day started at Midnight boxing day for the Drive down and through Kangaroo Alley, 5am hit MtBarker with a txt comikng through fom Woody "it's windy". Sure enough at 5:30 arrived to find Woody sitting in his car grinning with expectation for a gfreat day sailing. We hit the water by 6:30 with the wind easing off slightly still a great morning session, the Ant eventually arrived thinking he'd only find Woody on the water, Ant was straight on the speed board for a mission to crack the elusive 40 at Albany, top marks for a brilliant effort and even though not getting the 40 he managed to get 2 PB's so well deserved, Woody what a machine and so efficient in his tecnkique, shows in the speed of the day. Stars dn't align for myself but a brilliant day none the less, spewing the new 5.2 and 5.7 KA Race sails are still in transit so had to pull the old 5.5 recently retired Race sail out from the rafters, defo sail has had it's days not stable any longer felt like a piece of cloth in the wind. Used a slightly bigger fin as well the 20 Delta, nice and solid, pity it's probably a 18 Delta now with the water being slightly shallow as Woody can tgestify to. Woody was the smart one we where going to the top of the NM run wher he promptly stopped on ther correct location just to the other side of the sand bank towards the sailing club wheras I spyed a gust and flat water towards the sailing club and proceeded to blast into uncharted waters. Now I know why nobody speed sails in what I can describe as ideal flat water, the bottom is full of shells and shallow to the point the fin was being made into the 17 from the 20, still managed a 37. Top Day Top people can't ask for anymore Manta 54 KAR 5.5(For the Bin) Delta 20 |
