Leighton Beach, WA

On the water just after noon with Norts, the best time to sail at Leighton - sun high in the sky so beautiful turquoise water with schools of flying fish Cool

Misread the wind, we got only 16 knots at best, so used all the wrong gear.

The wind was very gusty and it kept changing direction.

First time using the Canmore GP102.

Somewhat underwhelming on the river. Nice and sunny but the wind was light, warm and gusty. Good to see the kids learning.

Melville Beach, WA, AU iS111. 6.4K, 35 GW

A good team turn out but the wind did not come to the party.

Melville at its worst. Gusty swinging warm air with no oomph in it. Graphs said 14-16 but it felt more like 10-12 for the most part.

I am surprised I managed 20 knots and for once my alpha is better than expected. As I never went over 18 knots on entry or exit 14.68 isn't bad, I hope?

At one stage the wind got so light I tried some helitacks. Got the board around but too much power in the sail. A lot more work required, maybe with the freeride sail next time?

Light wind session at the home of the Pinnaroos. Just enough wind to get going (some of the time) with the 6.0.

Looks like the ocean was the place to be today!

Went for a bit of a stretch. Dutchies - Port - Swanbourne- Dutchies. Only 8 Nmiles as the crow flies round trip!

Hour on the Port - Swanbourne leg. Ocean / big board PB? Kept the outward legs to about a mile using the watch. 20 turns.

Gamble to use the pointer paid off and only the Swanbourne - Dutchies leg was a pain as the wind dropped.

A little tired now!

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Lovely afternoon with a light breeze, just enough to keep planing most of the time.

Rocket 125, 42 fin, new (only sailed four times) Turbo 7.5. It sits well on my second hand but nearly new Severn Enigma boom.

Don't know how I broke a sail batten on such a ight day, but I did. Tom Radis gave me a replacement batten tube which I have used to fix it. Thanks Tom.

Funny, but someone else broke several battens today.

killed 2 birds with one stone, took my son Ollie to PP and then left him to it as i followed captains orders for an hour. on the light side but managed to keep planing apart from a couple of annoying post gybe stalls. lots of traffic in the river to dodge.

Melville - Another attempt to tryout the Patrik 110 (CR7.5, 34 Techtonic).  But just could not get going.  So far not having much luck with this board :(

A few runs in and out at Melville before calling it a day early. Had a couple of smoking drags (<1knot!) with Lunny haha. New sail and enigma combo feels beasty. Makes the 107 feel small somehow...I can't wait for a nice, steady 15 knots to properly set the sail up. Next time Cool

Nice one guys! And that's a massive day Mark! What Anita said ^^^,  Melville was terrible, so I sailed for half an hour then decided to do something else. Next weekend maybe? When are the real sea breezes going to start Undecided

GPSTC scoring

There are 6 categories

A session counts as 1 calendar day

For any one category the top 2 scores in a day count as the team score for that session.

For any category, if the team score on a day is greater than any previous score for that team for the month then the new score becomes the team score which is ranked. The two sailors who contributed the top two scores in a category for the team for the month get the jellybeans. So Jonah and lao scored the best pair of hours for the month yesterday, so they have the hour beans at the moment. If two people go out tomorrow and their scores add to a better total, then they will get the jellybeans.

Clearer than mud, I hope?
