Fangland for the afternoon.
Had 32 on the dial for the 135 big board, but evened out to 30.2 through real speed.
Tired arms

Another NM mission after yesterday's debacle, managed to get a 30.4 from Melville (quick start but lost the wind in the middle).
I hadn't sailed from Peli Point before in a seabreeze and Trouty had told me it was good for naughties - sure is, got the 31.7 down there in a nice solid 25 knot breeze.
Fun sail down and back. Like Leighton out in the middle
Good crew out, saw Mark and Shane do ripper runs and Slowy was killing it as usual.
M91, KA6.2, CL SL1 27 (super awesome fin)

3279 days ago 1 categories Coodanup, Koncept 6.6, Delta 21 slalom, Mistral 112 at first and the the CA speed (Kermit) Top speed on Kermit but was too tired by then to do more than one run, got a 34.6 on the Mistral a bit earlier. Wind picked up enough to make me think it worth trying the smaller board. Couldnt get the fin all the way into the box but running into the bottom a few times fixed that. Had to use a hammer to get it out ! Might need to do some work on that. Alpha is a surprise - didnt think I had done any of them. Top 9 fangy day. Lots of the usual locals plus the blowin Pinnas, and a few extras. Both Tobys amd Terry.
Mission was a 30 knot NM so can say thats done , probably would have been easier if I had not been so tired from yesterday.
Got of the water about 5 and no missed work phone calls, always a pleasure.

I made the mistake of being overconfident after my recent alpha PB of thinking that maybe I could gybe in stronger wind, so I put on the 91 for stability and went for it, only to discover that the board turns beautifully but my technique is nowhere near good enough to manage the sail at those speeds. I did complete one, and had a couple where I gathered the sail but stepped off the board and back on again. They were all too wide. So disappointment. I knew from the start that with the wind on offer I really should have whacked on the speed board and gone for speed and naughties, but...
That will be a second best naughty for me, and the fastest I have done on a big board. Should have changed to the speed board, but after all the high kicks dancing "Nutbush City Limits" last night the thigh muscles only had enough energy for one nm.
The day was redeemed by a good Pinnaroos turn out - I did recommend Coodanup as the place to be - and those who didn't join us will wish they had because the steadily building wind (which must have been 22-23 knots when I left) was just what we wanted. There will be some amazing numbers posted tonight.
Shaw, it was great to see you flying, even though you were overboarded. Congrats on all those PBs. Did you put the mast track forward a bit?
Jeff, super naughty there, exceeding expectations and then some!
Good to see Ricey and Mineral and all the other GPSTCers also.
Back to lightwind days for practicing gybes. A lot more work required.

YES, managed a 30+kn NM, which was my aim.
Really stoked
Not sure how I can have 30.7kn NM and yet only 28.1 5x10 second average. Does anyone know?

3279 days ago Great finish to the month with a blat around the Swan from Melville with Geoff and JJ and later Chris.
Bar was super shallow with some nice runs off the wind. Went searching for naughties out in the middle and up to Wallyworld but couldn't find any and lost track of speedy when he went on his mission. Have to be impressed with how well the 91 handles insane chop.
First time using this sail fin combo and quite impressed. Perhaps a bit small.
Well done team on a great day out!

3278 days ago Peli point after work. Got there to see Steve and Claude derigging 6.2s (overdone!) so wasn't confident with my smallest (6.3), but wind backed off about 3/4 of the way through rigging by about 5 knots. Bugger. Missed it by about 20 minutes. Just went for a bump and jump instead, and must have nailed like 30 or 40 huge floaters and about 5 or 10 accidental forwards ending in big wipeouts/body slams. Man, what a beating. Did one run back from majestics but it had min speed of 26 due to the holes. Super surprised to see 30 there, it was so underdone. Some super lumpy chunks made for an epic fun ride when powered up though Loving all the Pbs guys - smashed coodanup! Well Done All!!
Edit: forgot the gear:
