Lovely arvo on the water - great weather, decent wind and only a couple of fairly well-behaved jetskis. Ok, so the jetskis were a pain in the arse, but I'm trying to be charitable. Annoyed I didn't crack 30 today, tried the top end of the runway for ages but just not quite enough wind. The NM was right down the middle through some 'interesting' chop which had me bouncing all over the place and then spinning out. Eurghk...
--Edit-- Hadn't noticed the alpha! Unsurprisingly it was on my Falcon - had a few cruisey runs on that before changing down to the JP. Don't think I've ever kept that one planing all the way round | ||||||||||||||||||
Adrian Vos (3785km): Kyeemagh, NSW, AU KA72 Link: http://www.ka72.com/TrackRecalc.aspx?fid=22431 Nice day today, but I just couldn't make the right decisions. I get there at 2 and it is capping and people say it is picking up and some people are changing down, so I put up the 6.2 and FSW 92. I have about half an hour of OK sailing.. planing most of the time, but not real fast. Then the wind dies off and I am floating about. After half an hour of slogging I go get the Starboard GO (with the 6.2). That is good for about 15-20 minutes, and then it kicks in!! By this time I can't be bothered changing again as I had to go out for dinner, so wrestled the starboard GO around for a half hour or so, and then packed up around 5-5:30. Would have had a much better day if I selected the right equipment. You win some and lose some. Still it was a great day to be on the water, and still had a ball. Looked like it was cranking when I left, and would have been good for some speed on the small stuff, but had to go. Aiming to be out again tomorrow. Hopefully the wind will be better for the small gear!! We should go for a team distance PB. We should all go for over 100kms. Cheers, Adrian
