NP RS Slalom mkIII 6.2m2, Fanatic Falcon 105L + JP 34cm / JP Slalom IV 84L + Select S09 29cm

I'd planned to come down after lunch, but the wind looked good early on so I thought f*ck it, work can wait, and headed on down. Another top-notch afternoon - warm, sunny and windy with loads of people out.

Tricky conditions for speed - next to the runway the wind was full of holes while out in the middle it was choppy as. Respect to those that got over 30 out there - which should include Adrian when he uploads his numbers. Weirdly my alpha of 19.00 is exactly the same as yesterday. Shame not to have got past 100kms for the first time - too much time chatting on the beach. Must be less sociable in future...

Great down on the water. Used my FSW 92 and Hellcat 6.2. It was a bit light for it for the first couple of hours, but it picked up later and it was good. The wind was strong and gusty and full of holes. Not great wind, and did not really fill out near the runway, so I did runs for speed in the chop, and was lucky to get over 30... just. What happened to the days of good wind by the runway. Seems to be lately that it never gets in over there.

Great to see sparky out, and congrats on the distance PB mate!!

You can send me your last two sessions if you like and I can run them through Realspeed and check the alphas.

Cheers Mike. I get the same results from Realspeed so it's just a coincidence. Freaky huh?

Wow Adrian,

you put out the challenge to get a team score of 100 kms distance yesterday and we just fell slightly short. We have plenty of time left in the month to get that extra 300 meters and get 100 kms in a day.

How did teaching your friend windsurfing go David? If he is still at the very beginner stage we could meet up and he could have a go of my wife's board. Almost anyone can get going and windsurfing on it. Well done on the distance PB too.

The weekend is looking promising according to Seabreeze.

Hey Karl - sorry I let the team down on the 100kms! I was packing up at 7pm, met Adrian and he asked what distance I'd done. Saw 52kts on the GPS, didn't know the exact conversion but knew it would fall short... But I was knackered! So went home instead. Had I known we only needed 30m more I would have just run around a bit!

My mate (Huw) did well considering he was on my 105L Falcon - had a 10s run at one point, but with so little volume it's really tough. Thanks to you and Adrian for both offering your bigger boards - that would be awesome and we'll definitely take you up on it if we see either of you there next time.

I'll be out at Sandringham Friday morning if the forecast holds, then fingers crossed for the weekend...
