Great arvo sail after work on the i97 with new C3 Sting 34 fin and new for me 6.7 NP RS slalom, and new boom. Unfortunately all the new stuff too a lot of time to tune in, and it was fairly strong so I was feeling pretty tired from sailing unbalanced gear after only 15 minutes. I eventually got it there, and it eased off, and I actually enjoyed the last 30 minutes of about 15-20 knots the best as I was comfortable and in control. I probably carried a bit too much sail, but was not really overpowered much. Just not tuned in. Still, got some good speed, so happy with that. The C3 sting is so much better than the Drake Slalom pro. No spinouts today. Probably could have got some more speed on the 32 version I have, and had I been dialled in a bit earlier and not so tired, Glad I went out though!!

Good to see the Artur, Remi out there. Both flying as usual. I don't know how Remi goes so fast downwind through the middle of the Bay chop, but I have seen it for myself, and.... I turned up wind!! Frown

Another really nice session. I think it's just that it's warm and the sunsets are pretty - the wind was kind of tough, big gusts and holes all over the place. I sailed until it was really quite dark - the water looks so cool at that time, very glassy. And as the wind had dropped off I was free to lie back in the harness and admire the patterns of my wake. Aaah.

Got to use my new sail, just one day after picking it up. The verdict - love it! Ok, so it was probably a tad on the small side for today, but it seems to have a lot of power for its size. And super light in the gybes, rotates like a wave sail.

Sorry not to stop on the beach to catch up with anyone - having too much fun zipping around!

Exocet RS4 - Mauisails TRX 7.0 - Gasoil 6.3 38 & E9 36

Challenging gusty conditions, some nice downwind in the middle, more comfortable than going along the runway (or should I say down the stairs 2 steps at a time!). The soft feeling of these Mauisails was nice in these massive gusts.

Awesome 1 hour Artur. Wish I put a smaller sail up so I could have done a good one also to get a good result for the team.

Great hour Artur! Were you going for it or just belting around without stopping anyway?

Great PB Artur, 20 knots over an hour..... Reads like an great way to end the working week. Why can't the weather be like this all summer?

Thanks seaskip, this new equipment keeps getting great results. But I am spending a lot of time tuning every time I go out, as different conditions each time. I think if I can get out on the same sail more than once with it dialled in, there is more in it.

Artur, I hope we get an opportunity to both get out for a good hour before the end of the month... and also distance. I think I could get something in the 19s with the right conditions and do over 100kms.

Remi, Awesome speed as always. I saw you beckon me to come down wind towards the shore with you, but my arms were hanging off by that point, so I decided the easy way was back upwind. I will give it a go sometime, but have not got your technique for slamming through the chop at 30+ knots... something the work on.

Hi team and thanks for the warm welcome.

I happened to be down the coast near Sanctuary Point and saw the Seabreeze wind report (when it was working) show it was blowing hard.

It was difficult to see how strong it was on the water and unfortunately rigged up (too big) the Rocket 105 with a NP Slalom 6.2 and standard 32 Rocket fin.

I tried to persevere ploughing through the weed but just burnt myself out. I then rigged the 5.6 Switch on the 86L Starboard Komabat with 24cm wave fin to slice the weed and had some fun. Mind you crashing in shallow water was a bit of a worry.

There were a bunch of Illawarra guys down there on speed boards and home made weed fins having a ball and making PB in the knee high weedy water.

Wind was so strong it was difficult to just stand without losing your footing near the boatramp.

Well done to Macwind, Adrian Sparky and Remi with belting around the Bay in that wind and braking those PB speeds! A very good day for sure.

I would love to have a go down on that shallow weed bank Barks!! Sounds like great fun going for V Max without the chop.
