Nice to see lots ot team members out there today!! It was strong and very gusty. I first went out and thought about changing down, but I persisted with the setup and dropped the boom a lot and moved the mast base forward until I could keep the nose down in the strong gusts and than just held on tight on the big gusts through the chop. Setup was working really well. It was hard to get a good run down the runway (gusts gone as quick as they came), but I got a few including one right behind a jet ski which smoother the water a lot... unfortunately the wind was not nuking on that one. I had one fantastic run at the end, and I was going much faster than I have gone on the bay before, but I run out of battery in my GPS about that time, and I am unsure if the 2 second peak was that run, or I missed it. The gust was long enough that I got through the acceleration phase and got in control, and then it hit again harder when I was already up to speedmand everything was just smooth and fast. Felt great. Most of my previous runs were out of wind before I got up to full speed. Lots of luck in getting a fast speed today. Looking forward to seeing what the other guys got. Should be a good day for the DDs!!
Cheers,
Adrian

20 to 30+ in gusts, very gusty NE
Exocet RS2 - Mauisails TRX 6.3 - Tried a few different fins Gasoil SLR 36-34 & E8.5 34
Fastest speeds were done on the way back to shore even if I got close getting a few runs down the runway (36.45), felt more like corrugated road.
Good to have the small kit lit up like that.

WNW Gust to 22knots.

3973 days ago More of a survival sail for what were pretty full on conditions for me at Kyeemagh. Glad to get back to shore without a walk of shame or suffering injury or equipment failure. The winds were gusting over 30 knots and the water was choppy. I think I was stressing about the conditions and thus lost a lot of energy. In actuality it wasn't too bad, my sail was fine, not overpowered. The board was a bit big though and the fin not the best. So its more psychological that anything else.
Well done to everyone sailing there who could handle the conditions.
