5 days in a row of sensational sailing, wind 18 to 22kts early, odd gust stronger, extra wind made for a bit more chop and smaller gear didnt feel safe to gybe or try for alphas, probably an alpha PB day here, as per PEPE!!!!, I was on a 6.3m and under-powered on all downwind runs, you can Imagine if Seve pell is on a 7m, at 68kg, whats a fat bastard at 92kg doin on a 6.3m, Elmo was on a 7.8m. They both went a bit faster than me.  Hopefully winds picked up a bit for them hard to tell.  I used my Manta 54, and Decrepit weed 21cm 45degree.  Great to sail with Sammy, Pepe, Elmo, Steve, and Binny

Went down with my beloved, when I got there I found that one of my trailer tyres had a nice egg, lucky it got inyto town as I noticed the trailer was making noise from Mt Barker.

Had a great day sailing with a great bunch of people, because of the low tide I couldn't use the larger board I really needed to use so was forced to use the Manta then chuck a bigger sail on it to force the board going through the dense weed.

Once on the go it was ok but felt the size of the sail in making it hard bashing my way up wind.

Was getting some nice runs and some nice gybes (even though the most of them had huge fat bums) I did eat shit again on quite a few including one where I got back winded.

Evets was on a mission, Sammy had that mad gleam in his eye but was struggling with a broken batten and a fin which wasn't right for the job. Hardz was charging as well. Pepe and Binny were playing in the chopWink

Flagged the session early with arm pump being the excuse but reality was I had to get the trailer tyres replaced, which Thankfully Albany Tyrepower got me sorted withn 2 shiny new tyres and a s/h rim which they gave me for a spare.

Huge congrats to Evets and Pepe for a couple of brilliant PB'sCoolCoolCoolCoolCoolCool You'll keep ya skinny buggerWink

Curry night was excellent with good food and great company, even the ones regailing us of their new PB'sLaughing

A great day out

Lilacs JP54 RSREII 7.0 first pepe speed weed 26 (absolutely brilliant fin) and then MXR UFO sppeed weed 24.

What a great day. Had laoads of fun and never felt overpowered. In fact on the speed runs always needed more wind. I guess that is the lot of a GPSer.

So much fun sailing with Elmo, Hardie and Sammy down the sandbar run. Ironically  think there was better wind and sufficiently flat water in the middle of the bay.

Kept at the speed run trying to go better but failed. Then tried for more alphas once I had changed fins. THe MXR is excellent, goes well up wind, great across the wind and down wind and when I did manage to spin out when pushing tooo hard it immediately came back when pulled into line. Very impressed

Really happy with the alpha, 3 pb alphas today at 50 m prox. Also a 25.35 at 57 m prox. As I have said before there are more alphas to come from this combo.

So much fun outr there today. Flat water, great friends and wind.

Congrats to Pepe for his Alpha PB and we will have to wait and see what Elmo did till he gets home tomorrow.. At least I will be ahead of him in the alpha race until then!

stop press reviewed data and deleted invalids giving me a now verified 24.62 alpha . smug mode engaged!

Fantastic stuff you guys! Congrats Steve on the awesome corner work.....I am getting quite jealous of the cool and wind now... I also suspect that for the most part I am underpowered: after looking at what size sails you guys use I guess that my biggest sail of 6.6 moving 110 kegs is not really up to the mark - size really does matter then?

Thanks everyone, I am really happy to have broken my pb 3 times in 1 session, the combo felt so good.

Thanks Keef for the suggestion of looking at the MXR fins. The 24 is brilliant in the JP54. I am looking forward to trying the 20cm I have in my JP45 when there is a bit more wind.

Great job, Evets!Cool

I was surprised at how well the MXR 22 weed gybed in Lurch. Need to be really powered up to go fast though (although they do seem to have another gear) and like flat water.

Great to see the Gang back together (even if some are in different teams now)
