the weather cooperated today - wind and even a bit of sunshine. had a great sail with Noel and john 

wimpy sail with 4.5. much too safe.I dont want to have big offs untill the water is warmer.The decrpit stainless steel leading edge fin is a joy.I managed to hit a rock which would have destroyed a lesser fin but was was able to keep sailing with minimal damage. My learner the barbarian had his session cut short by a failed  uni.

Best sail since summer!!

Great turnout, lots of fluffing around getting ready, found I'd left my headphones at hone so sexy Sadie couldn't wisper sweat numbers in my ear, bugger.

Started out with the Manta but was stuck in the mid 34's eventually the arms blew out as I'm wheazy weak and unfit at moment so I came in a changed up to the larger board.

Got a few nice runs and it turned out to be quicker than the smaller board, Worked my way up wind to the knitting circle which was up at point waiting for a squall line to come in for a bit of naughty.

Their impatience got the better of them and they took of, I hung back for a bit to allow for the squall to get further down the run, I took of and it was blowing, the arms being fairly giggered were doing a piss poor job of pointing the sail in the right direction, all I could do was hang on and call for mummy, nicely lit all the way down apart from the last 200m where there was a bloody great hole.

The run back was interesting as the squal was trying to blow my balls of which is no mean feat considering how small and insignificant they are.

Twas a great day out everyone looked to be having a blast.

Discovered the joy of heated seats on the way back (I understand now Bender)

That was good fun! A few good squalls, some rainbows, some sunshine. I got to sail one of my new sails, and looks like an alpha PB. Nice to see so many out having fun.

well,.. some anyway.   Had the old slalom52, ka kon 5.8, and 18cm weedy50/55,

Good fun day, just need to select the right board first. My new (to me) 2015 Ka Race 5.5 and different boards, mainly a 111 Carve. Thanks elmo for helping me out with the sail setup.  Coodanup, WA, AU

Melville Beach, WA, AU  RRD XFire 90, Vapour 6.3, 30 weed

Went for a quick sail with junior at melville mainly to try out newly acquired board. Crazy windy in the usual gusty/lull madness of melville. hopelessly overpowered everyone else had 5s but the board is very quick considering the high chop factor. Had trouble getting into the back footstrap which requires dragging your foot in the water first or doing a sideways hat manouevre - failure is an interesting freestyle trick with a low scoring landing. Anyway happy with the potential speed and hopefully will work out how to turn the thing. Can't wait to groove the smooth on it...

Okay I have some time to put pen to paper. For the third day in a row Huey came to the party. Wamba St provided the grass and shelter and as a result Fangys was a good place to be. I had wandered down to S bend earlier, but found the Nannas there busily setting up a knitting circle. Ben turned up and brought a touch of Tassie weather with him and seemed quite at home with shorts and a Tshirt. Back to the ranch to get loaded and get a Delta for Ben, but by the time I got back down the Grumpynuts had sorted Ben out with a fin. Obviously Ben likes to live on the edge a bit and I think he might have been a little oblivious to the consequences should he put a scratch on the fin.

I left the peasants at S-Bend joined the Cap’n around at the far more sophisticated locale, Wamba St.The servants served us scones whilst we lounged on tartan rugs. Croquet on the lawn was called off as our gear was unpacked  and rigged for us. I sort of suspect the Capn’s servants had secreted a stash of Dot’s special fruit cake, because they did a good job of rigging the right kit the first time. Obviously the Capn fuelled up as well as he set about sailing like a machine for the third day in a row.

My servants chose well too. I went out on the Vivien Leigh(vintage Missy Screamer) Koncept 6.6, Delta 21. Unfortunately my masseuse was not up to the task of easing out all the soreness from the chop the day before. I needed some of Dot’s special fruit cake to get me going. However the Cap’n shares Dot’s special fruit cake, like a hungry Rottweiler shares a steak, so I had to hit the water and ease myself back in.

For a skinny hipped girl Vivien is a surprisingly comfortable ride and this coupled with some reasonably smooth water worked their magic and muscles stopped moaning. I was intent on improving my alphas score. I nailed a few crackers. At least I thought I did. I groaned audibly when I saw my numbers. I consistently ran too wide. I should have plugged in the earphones so I could get the bad news from Sexy Saddie at the time.

 With a big mob out there was always someone nearby to watch. The voyeur in me loves to watch windsurfers fully locked down, boards trimmed to just kiss the water, all topped off with a sweet gybe at the end. ‘Ken was just magic to watch. So fast, balanced and assured in his u turns. I am not surprised one bit at his alpha.

I got all inspired and decided to get out the Missy Edge and superglued a Delta 18 in the slot. This was great fun. I think I probably pulled off my fastest gybe ever as I got to grips with the handling of this board. I just have to close it up a bit more!

The Manbra boys all started to hit it. Elmo smashed out some speed and surprised all and sundry by not muppetising himself in the process. Hardasmarshmellow donned 6 inches of neoprene and braved the spring conditions, Fin worked the water back and forth like a metronome and Tugger went through boards like a Kylie Minogue concert costume change.

By mid arvo all the muscles were fed up with the brain insisting that we would go in after the next run, but always hitting a nice little gust or getting a sweet gybe such that we never quite got back to shore. Luckily for them, Elmo’s lack of muppetising gear today meant someone had to suffer.
I was coming back in and just loaded up and probably at about the 30 knot mark when the webbing on my harness broke with frightening speed. I continued on for a bit with out board or sail, but then made a sizeable hole in the water. I think it might have looked pretty decent because Fudge stopped to see if I was ok. (thanks mate) I was fine but you should have heard the complaints from the shoulder muscle department about having to sailing all the way home on arms alone.

And that was me done for the day. All in all, good fun, lots of buzz and smiles on the dial and of course, a Top Ten Fangy Day.

That's more like it, not exactly smooth but much flater tha yesterday.

Rigged the 5.8 shoved it onto the 48cm board with the 18cm 48d weedy.

Have to rush, maybe more later.
