Was some nice flat water at the start for the bare-aways, but then it cranked up a few notched. I came in to change board and sail, but by the time I got back out there it was 40 knts and the water was far too rough for any sort of speed sailing. In fact, it was down right scary on the speed board. Those UFOs are amazing fins... never let go once with a heavy foot and plenty of chop. Fast too with a 34 on my first run. Best weed fins. Had a massive stack in 30cm of water at the end of that 38knt run and each leg went a different way so I'm sure my crotch will be sore tomorrow. Very stoked on a PB, but disapointed the conditions didn't remain favorable... 40 could have been very achievable today if the wind didn't crank so hard and mess up the water. Still awesome fun. Big turn out and really good to hang with everyone. Love sailing Primbee.

very hard to bear away in the chop, also most of the time was overpowered. Hard work all day but good to get some wind and see Nigel, Barks, Roar, 4 of the breakaways and so many other friends from other teams.

Nigel, every session a pb, today 2 !! Awesome, man , congratulations.

What a great Day! Not fast for me but was fun anyway to get blown all ove the place.

25+ cars in the parking lot and met lots of new peeps. Glad there were no serious injuries to otheres except minor scrapes and burns.

Nice to chat with so many locals, Speedsters and Gustbusters.

Never seen a broken carbon boom snapped in the middle and its extension before. Good to know the over handle bars event did not dampen the spirit.

Special mention to NIGEL for such an excellent 38+ speed in the hairy conditions. Of course we also had George and Roar powering through that westerly.

The day was scary and fun.

Awesome Nigel.  So close to 40.  Won't be long mate.  I'm going to check out those UFO fins now.  So you think that top speed was on your PD48. Hope the landing gear is in good working condition for the weekend.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Dean, top speed was on the slalom 87. It's just such an amazing board, especially when conditions are less than ideal. I know that board will do 40. On the otherhand, it's going to take me a while to get used to the edginess of the speed 48. It's fun, but scary in the chop.

BARKS... CONGRATS MATE! You did well to hold it flat to the floor for a full 1.852 kilometers :) Soooo good.
