Remi Dunoyer (24497km): Kurnell, NSW, AU Exocet RS3 - S2 Maui 6.3 - ERD 34 Thought I passed 40 knots today, must have got confused with wind strength gusting at 40+ ... Humbling session, jybes on the outside were pretty ugly, chop was awesome though just getting to it a bit quick! Good to see Tim brave the conditions on slalom gear as well .
Cheeky Monkey (983km): Primbee, NSW, AU Cheeky Monkey 46cm speed board, Tr-7 5.1m & Cheeky Monkey 21cm weed@42deg. Well that was WINDY!!!!
Nigel (4616km): Primbee, NSW, AU || W 30-40kts PD87, GPS 5.5, MXR UFO 22 || PD48, GPS 5.0, MXR UFO 20 Wow, living on the edge! That was such an intense day, I was fighting to hold onto my smallest sail and spent most of the time tail walking up and down the lake. Oooh yeah. It was rough and the water was vaporizing in the gusts. The carpark was chockas, but it was simply too wild for most. The hardy few who were still on the water were absolutely smoking though, so I just gritted my teeth, stuck with it and went really deep on the bare-aways. Spent most of the day on the 87 and had a low 38 on the dial. Then I decided to give the 48 a go and nudged the top of 38, but couldn't quite get over it. I Love the Patriks. So well behaved in those intense conditions. Great to catch up with Speedsters and Gust Busters. Craig Ferris even made a cameo :) Had a good time chasing Berowne into the shallows. Good times.

AlfaMale (19018km): So close yet so far... 40kts I can smell you! Epic session at Primbee, really drew a crowd! Started on MauiSails TRX 6.3, then changed down to TR4 5.5 when sanity prevaled. Naish SP60 and Vector Fins Maui Spweedie 23cm did nicely all day. Damn boom pins broke after a 38kt run (after slowing) so had to sail with a race boom! Damn thick grip. Solid! Good to see everyone out today.... to numerous to mention, but I'm sure others will (late for a party). Until next time, whenever that may be! https://www.ka72.com/DesktopModules/ka72/TrackDetails/kml.asmx/GetFile?tid=286225
George (32558km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU || 20-30 W i94 with Delta 20 & JP69/ Koncept 5.8/ MXR ws 22. Also did 2 runs with JP45 speedboard.
Good fun , but I was sooo tired and sore. Wasted time with rigs and fins. The speedboard is great, but too hard for me to start in the shallows, sucked all my energy so I put it aside for the day.
Congratulations Remi for going to Kurnell, the chop must have been incredible ! And to Nigel and Berowne too, well deserved pbs ! |
