Playing around putting my PBs into gps3 I somehow deleted this session out of the GTC.

I'd originally processed it with realspeed on the laptop and the doppler distance was 326.? but this version of gpsarpro only does trackpoint distance, which explains the discrepancy if anybody is wondering.

This was a great distance day at LG was on the 6.6 all day, could have used the 5.8 mid afternoon, the 6.6 was near the top end of it's range for me. the 5.8 would have been less tiring. But I thought the time spent changing rigs, would impinge on my total distance more than hanging onto a slightly too big sail.

gpsarpro says I have a 5Xhr of 21.33kts never had anything like that before! Just shows how consistent the wind was through the day.

That is absolutely enormous Decrepit!! I don't think I have enough superlatives to match that distance. Simply, dead set legend status for sure. Unfortunately there was absolutely no wind on my side today, hopefully someone will have got wet over here...

Mike! Absolutely amazing! I hope someone from over here backed you up, even if they only crawled 1 km it will be a good average. I think Hardie's out, Elmo, Fangman, where are your headlights? No matter what team you are on, it would be a pity to see that effort not backed up.

Mike, aside from the fatigue factor, when going for that distance what do you do to keep from getting bored?

I wish I had been there with you Mike. That is a huge total.

Anita: distance sailing does give you time to think! Few distractions, nothing else you should be doing etc.

Thanks guys.

My main pleasure is putting the International legends all time distance back in Aussie hands. Daffy has the other 5 well and truly sown up.

Anita, I don't have a big problem with boredom, maybe just my personality.

Not feeling too bad at the moment, shoulders, arms, ankles and elbows are all a bit the worse for wear, but much better than last night.

Just crunched some numbers, for the statiscally minded I'll share them.

total sailing time = 1hr 8min + 2hr 4min + 2hrs 16min + 3hrs = 8hrs 30min
average speed = 326km in 8.5 hrs = 38.35 kms/hr
incuded 145 gybes about 6 of them dropped, (hard to tell what was an intentional rest/adjustment stop, from a missed gybe turned into one)
5X1hr = 21.329kts

Very pleased with this, on the Mandurah estuary I allow 3hrs to do 100km, obviously things are faster at Lake George. Also I normally would drop a lot more gybes, especially on starboard, as that is normally choppy on the estuary and I'm not much good in chop.
