Andrew (15048km): Kyeemagh, NSW, AU 18-32kt NE || 118 Manta+44cm Light Wind Slalom/94 Isonic+32cm Flying Objects, 6.0 Simmer Style Only Nigel, Dezza and myself to begin with plus a few others, then also Berowne (thanks for the fin!) and Craig. Classic NEr, building steadily, exceeding the forecast, and staying flat for a real long time. Very little in the way of other types of vessel. Felt great to finally ride a smaller board at Botany - way way easier in the chop! Even managed 4 gybes in strong wind by the runway - planing for a majority of the arc :-) Such a great fun day at the bay.

Nigel (4616km): Kyeemagh, NSW, AU || NE 20-33 Rocket 115, OD 7.0, Vmax4 39 || Manta 98, OD 6.2, Vmax4 33 Started at 12 with Dezza from the Gust Busters and teamie, Andrew. Finished at 6 with only Berowne still out on his speed board. The first hour was a bit light for the 7.0, but I was planing most of the time. By 3pm it was consistently mid 20s with super flat water and when I stopped to looked at my watch I'd done something like 80klms. Feeling pretty good still, I figured I'd get 100 out today. Before I knew it, I'd cracked 110, but the wind was really starting to honk. After a few more runs, followed by a massive tailwalk that resulted in one of the hardest wipeouts I've ever had, I decided to change boards. That didn't work! It was gusting over 30 and I was still on a 7m. I knew I was closed to a distance PB, so I reluctantly rigged the 6.2 and went back out. The 6.2 and Manta were still a hand full and I really struggled to squeese out another 15 or 20klm. Totally wrecked, but so stoked. That was one of the best days sailing I've had on Botany. 95% on the Rocket and OD 7m. Such a fantastic combo. Just blasting back and forward. Top speed was done on the Rocket too :) Very quick free-ride board!! Great to finally meet Eric and cool to see Dezza on Botany.

AlfaMale (19018km): I love 3 week holidays! Spent another fun day in the sun at Kyeemagh with Andrew, Nigel and a bunch of other layabouts... Spent most of the time on my iSonic 90L with SLR 36 fin and TR6, 7.0 m2 golden oldie... Good size, but after sailing with the TRX's for a few years now, the older model really felt ordinary. Then I fell on it, putting a hole through the bottom panel. Then I caried it up the garden path and put a star post through the top panel, then I threw it out! Spare battens / cams needed anyone? Switched down to 6.3 and the Naish SP60, with 30cm Falcon F1 fin. Weeeeeee so much fun, except when it wasn't. Not the best for distance, hours, or max speeds today, as the big wind was right in the middle, and the runway typically had a lull or wind shadow or something. Peak speed was coming back towards the beach!
