We weren't real satisfied with yesterday's hour so went for another one today.

Totally different scenario to yesterday, started a bit late. Sammy said, "rig the same as yesterday, you're man enough to handle it".

But when I measure 25kts I knew he was wrong, it had picked up 5kts in the last 1/2hr.

So I riiged the 5.0, and plugged into the 48cm board, used the same 24 fin as yesterday, thought I'd need it in the chop.

Had a run across the lake and back, new right away, I couldn't do an hour like that, every gust was blowing me downwind, it was a continuous fight just to get back where I started from.

Applied a lot more downhaul and outhaul, went for another run and couldn't get going! And I was all over the place, @#%$#@ fin had picked up weed, it's 45deg, shouldn't do that! the run back felt much better, still very close to the edge, but I did have some semblance of control.

Went for a downwinder half way across the lake, to behind the islands. This is my max speed and NM, next time I'll start further upwind only half the run is downwind.

Started running between the islands and after 10min was in serious doubt about making the hr, right on the edge in the gusts, still getting blown downwind, but not as bad as before.

It was the longest hr I've ever sailed, couldn't wait to finish, so I started back up wind 2 tacks before I should have, the hour finished half way through the last tack back to base.

It was worth it though, beats my previous hrs by .3kt, it's a good match with yesterday's alpha.

Sammy was flying on his 5.8, and I've been told I'm not allowed to beat him, so lets hope he has a 25+

Absolute great session, great to catch up again with some of the naughty Demons Cool, party is on ah ah ah

Great fun out there, still learning how to sail without doing the same mistakes..

Fantastic backup from my mate Mike again, after yesterday disapointment, we decided to try again today.. Thanks Mike, great job and fantastic PB yeeaaarggg Cool, we done it again Tongue out

Join Dan for the hour, a bit too late, was over board after 30 mins.. dropped a jibe at 45 mins!! Jamie came and tease me Tongue out and was keeping up on 5m, yes I could have done smaller! But at the end I wanted 26 and I got it Wink

Speed got done in the "Sammy's gap" how Jamie call it, which is between the islands

For the NM, looked my last time data and done the same, just harder

This place rocks, light or high wind, just greeeeat, pleasure is everywhere

Tomorrow should be another average session, dont have much hands left with all that sailing!!

Hey Hardtack, just a minor technical concern with the alphas...can I simply just run around on the flats on the low tide with my GPS and carrying my board or do I have to actually be on the board?

Fangy I have to agree with you, ...........But Really numbers Don't Matter!!............. Except of Course............. When you WIN, ......Then they're all that Matter!!!!!!!  What a stroke of GENIUS to end the GPSTC tonight (if we are the winners of course which is not yet officially determined), But if it is indeed the case, then we must  Proclaim the "Mandurah Mob" All Time Winners Forever, full-stop, no more playing!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!  Nebbs will recieve an order within the next 48 hrs to shut the website down MWA HAHAAHA!!!!!!!!

Fangy we should've shut it down the GPSTC about 10 minutes ago, as the Brilliant SA Demons have stolen our glory and ruined our excuse for a party Yell, Oh well it was beautiful to Gloat for about 10 minutes, lovely feeling Embarassed  Need to think of another excuse for a partyCool

Fantastic hours Sam and Mike huge congrats to both.

Fangy: thanks for capturing the table when it mattered. That is a truly worthy contribution.

FWIW I spent years contributing rarely. But always the other team members encouraged me and I found that having others on the water helps whatever division you are trying for. Particularly distance.

The great thing about the GTC is everyone contributes in their own way, whether getting jellybeans or not!

My reply to Sammy, was senile sensibility. Sam has a very long, boring 3 day drive ahead of him starting tomorrow morning.

Although the forecast looks great to start March with a bang, the risk of a bad accident through tiredness is much too great to push it today. So please no expectations, of a repeat perfomance, I want Sammy to arrive safe for his flight back to work!!!!!!

No dramas Decrep, firstly the GPSTC finished for all time last night at 8.30pm WST, so we won it and now numbers don't count, and second we need Sammy in good form for the party, especially if he wants to join in the balcony waterfall contest.:-)
